Information about Japanese Tea
Japanese tea drinking was of course first introduced in Japan by the Buddhist monk who came back from China named Eichu. In China, preparing and drinking tea was known for more than hundreds and thousands of years. The tea that was popular at that time when the Buddhist monk came back was called brick tea where the tea leaves was then pounded and steamed, then pressed into molds and dried up until it is hard. It will be then grounded by mortar and the grounded tea leaves will then be mix with many other flavorings and herbs. The drinking and preparation of the tea evolved from then and used by so many people from medicinal used and now from pleasure used too.
There is also called the Japanese tea ceremony where in an independent tea house, a tea is to be prepared and served. The host will let the guest wait in the garden until they are finished preparing the tea. Then they will first purify themselves by ritually washing their hands and by using water from a small stone, rinsed their mouth before drinking tea. Then they will proceed in the garden of the tea house. The guest will enter the tea houses, removing their shoes and be seated according to prestige. There are many other styles of tea ceremony; all depends on what kind of season, occasion they have and many other factors.
Today, almost all people around the world drink tea. From China, India and in Western countries, thousands of people drink tea. There are different kinds of tea available today depending on how they are prepared and where the tea leaves came from. One is called green tea.
Green tea is one kind of Japanese tea that is made from unfermented leaves of tea. Green teas according to studies contain the most concentration of polyphenols, one of the most powerful antioxidants we have. Antioxidants are substances that look for free radicals in the body that damages the body’s compound and alter our cells, as well falter our DNA and may even cause death. Green tea is also used as stimulant, as well as for the promotion of the urination and helps for the control of bleeding and heals wounds. Also, it improves the health of our heart. Others drink green tea for treating gas or flatulence, or for regulation of body temperature and blood sugar, for also the promotion of digestion and improvement of the mind.
Another Japanese tea is called Macha tea. Macha literally means powdered tea. It is a powdered green tea made from the finest and youngest leaves of the first harvesting days. Macha has sweet but with delicate taste.
Japanese tea is pleasurable to drink and most of all it has great benefits to our body. It helps us to live healthy and have a better life. That is mainly the reason many people prefer to drink tea. You can find much other Japanese tea available everywhere so people can easily buy them. Some preferred Japanese home-made teas or the teas they make and others just buy from supermarket or stores for ready made teas.
